Why India for F&V Processing?

India ranks as the second-largest producer of fruits and vegetables worldwide, accounting for about 12% of global production.
In the 2020-21 period, horticultural production in India reached 334.60 million metric tons.
In India, the processing rate for fruits and vegetables stands at 3.3%.

Why India for Dairy Processing?

During 2019-20, India exported dairy products totaling 51,421.85 million metric tons (MMT), valued at USD 186.71 million.
Milk production in India has grown from 146.3 MMT in 2014-15 to 198.4 MMT in 2019-20.
In 2019-20, the per capita milk availability in India was 407 grams per day.

Why India for Food Grain Processing?

Food grains production reached 295.6 million metric tons (MMT) in 2019-20.
Pulses production was 23.01 MMT in 2019-20.
The production of nutri/coarse cereals stood at 47.54 MMT in 2019-20.

The total poultry population rose by 16.81% to reach 851.81 million in 2019.
Egg production in India was 103.3 billion during the 2018-19 period.
Poultry meat production in 2017-18 was 3.76 million tonnes.

India is the second-largest producer of fish in the world and the fourth-largest exporter of seafood.
It is also the second-largest producer of aquaculture globally.
India's global share of fish production has risen to 7.73%.

Why India for Processing of Spices?

India is the largest producer, consumer, and exporter of spices and spice products in the world.
The total spice production in 2019-20 was 9.41 million tonnes.
The export value of spices in FY20 reached USD 3.65 billion, showing a 10% year-over-year growth.

Why India for RTE/RTC processing?

The market is anticipated to grow at a rate of 16.3% between 2019 and 2024.
Exports in this category surpassed USD 100 million.
This segment was valued at USD 0.46 billion in 2020.
The average price per unit in the ready-to-eat meals segment in 2020 was estimated at 3.25 USD.

Nutraceuticals

The nutraceuticals segment was valued at over 4 billion USD in 2020.
India's share in the global nutraceuticals market is 2%.
